Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 October 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of PlateWise, a personalised meal-planning service for individuals and families operated by Pinnacle Market Analytics (“PlateWise”, “we”, “us”). Please read them carefully.

Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, starting a free trial or using PlateWise, you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use PlateWise.

Account registration requirements

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Children may only use PlateWise through a parent or guardian’s account.
  • You must provide your real name and a valid email address that you can access, or sign in with a Google account you own.
  • Each account is for one person or household and may not be shared outside it, sold or transferred.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity on your account. Tell us straight away if you suspect unauthorised use.

User responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information, including your measurements, goals, diet and any medical conditions, so plans can be personalised correctly.
  • Only add family members’ details when you have their permission, or are their parent or guardian.
  • Check ingredients, allergens and dietary suitability yourself before preparing or eating any meal.
  • PlateWise gives general, rule-based meal guidance. It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Speak to a doctor or registered dietitian before making dietary changes, especially if you or a family member has a medical condition, is pregnant or is a child.
  • Food prices and shopping totals are estimates in South African Rand, not guaranteed store prices.

Acceptable use of PlateWise

You may use PlateWise for your own personal and household meal planning. You must not:

  • use PlateWise for anything unlawful, harmful or fraudulent;
  • try to access other users’ accounts or data, or bypass security or access controls;
  • copy, scrape, resell or redistribute PlateWise content, recipes or software, or reverse engineer the service;
  • upload offensive, misleading or harmful content, including in custom meal or food names;
  • disrupt or overload the service, or use automated tools to access it.

Intellectual property

PlateWise, including its software, design, food catalogue, recipes, meal-planning rules, text, graphics, logos and branding, is owned by Pinnacle Market Analytics or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use PlateWise for your own household meal planning while your account is active. No other rights are transferred to you.

You keep ownership of the information you add, such as custom meals and preferences. You allow us to store and process it only to provide PlateWise to you.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, do not pay for a subscription, or if your use creates a security or fraud risk. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

Trial terms

  • New accounts get a 7-day free trial with full access to PlateWise features.
  • No payment details are needed to start the trial, and you will not be charged automatically when it ends.
  • To keep planning new meals after the trial, you will need to choose a paid plan. You can still sign in and view your saved information.
  • One free trial per person or household.

Subscription terms

  • PlateWise offers a Monthly Plan at R99/month and a Yearly Plan at R999/year, in South African Rand. See our Pricing page for what is included.
  • Subscriptions are paid in advance and renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) until you cancel.
  • Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
  • Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are also governed by Paddle’s Buyer Terms. We do not see or store your card details.
  • We will tell you at least 30 days before any price change takes effect. The new price applies from your next billing period.

Cancellation policy

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time under Settings → Billing & subscription, or by emailing pinnaclemarketanalytics@gmail.com from your account email.
  • When you cancel, you will not be charged again. Your access stays active until the end of your current billing period.
  • Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
  • You can delete your account and data at any time under Settings, or ask us to do it. Deleting your account cancels any subscription immediately. See our Privacy Policy.

Limitation of liability

PlateWise is provided “as is”. We take reasonable care in providing it but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free information or particular health, weight or savings outcomes. To the extent permitted by South African law, Pinnacle Market Analytics is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from reliance on general meal guidance, estimated prices or service interruptions. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as PlateWise develops. We will publish the revised terms with a new date and tell you about material changes before they take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
